Halloween 2025 in Pokémon GO: A Spooktacular Celebration!

Part I: October 21 - October 27, 2025

New Pokémon Debuts

This Halloween marks the debut of two new Pokémon: Poltchageist and Sinistcha, known as the Matcha Pokémon! For the first time, trainers will also have the chance to encounter Shiny Sinistea—if luck is on your side. Evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha using 50 Poltchageist Candy.

Event Bonuses

As you progress through the Halloween 2025 GO Pass, you can unlock some fantastic bonuses:

  • Tier 1: 2× Catch Candy (3× for GO Pass Deluxe)
  • Tier 2: Increased chance for trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • Tier 3: 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon, with even better chances for Candy XL for trainers at level 31 and above.

Wild Encounters

During this event, you might spot event-themed Pokémon in the wild, including Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, Greavard, and even Sinistea! Keep an eye out for Shiny versions!

Raids

Check out the following Pokémon in raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Galarian Yamask, Sinistea, Poltchageist
  • Three-Star Raids: Alolan Marowak, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott

Field Research Tasks

Complete event-themed Field Research tasks to encounter Pokémon like Sableye, Yamask, Zorua, and more. Some trainers may even find Spiritomb! Completing tasks will also earn you Mega Energy for Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, and Absol.

New Avatar Items and Music

Dress up your avatar with the new Polteageist Hat and enjoy a nightly remix of the Lavender Town music during the event. Spin PokéStops and open Gifts to collect themed stickers!

Part II: October 27 - November 2, 2025

New Costumed Pokémon

Part II introduces adorable costumed Pokémon! Look out for:

  • Teddiursa, Ursaring, and Ursaluna wearing witch hats
  • Noibat and Noivern wearing headbands

Event Bonuses

On October 31, costumed Pokémon will have a chance to reward you with Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when caught with Nice Throws or better. The same tiered bonuses from Part I will continue in Part II.

Wild Encounters

Expect to see costumed Pokémon in the wild, including Teddiursa and Noibat. There’s also an increased chance of encountering Shiny versions of these Pokémon!

Raids

In raids, you’ll find:

  • One-Star Raids: Pikachu and Piplup in Halloween Mischief costumes, Sinistea, Poltchageist
  • Three-Star Raids: Gengar in a Tricks & Treats costume, Drifblim in a Halloween Mischief costume

Field Research Tasks

Complete tasks to encounter Pokémon like Pikachu in a Halloween costume, Teddiursa in a witch hat, and Froakie in a Pokémon Halloween costume. Some trainers might even encounter Spiritomb!

New Avatar Items and Stickers

The Polteageist Hat will still be available, and you can continue to collect event-themed stickers throughout the event.
