Event Overview

Pokémon GO's annual Halloween celebration has begun, with Part 1 running from October 21 to October 27, 2025, at 10 AM local time. This spooky season introduces the matcha-inspired Pokémon Poltchageist and marks the debut of shiny Sinistea, giving trainers plenty of reasons to explore during this ghost-filled event.

Getting Poltchageist & Evolution

Poltchageist is exclusively available in One-Star Raids during the Halloween event. Unlike other event Pokémon, it doesn't feature increased wild spawns, so trainers must seek out raids to add this Grass/Ghost-type to their collection.

Evolution to Sinistcha requires 50 Poltchageist Candy for the Counterfeit Form, while the rare Artisan Form demands 400 Candy to evolve into Sinistcha's Masterpiece form.

Counterfeit vs Artisan Forms Explained

The key difference between Poltchageist forms lies in a Mark of Authenticity stamp on the bottom of its body:

Counterfeit Form: No stamp → Evolves with 50 Candy → Sinistcha (Unremarkable Form)

Artisan Form: Has stamp → Evolves with 400 Candy → Sinistcha (Masterpiece Form)

To check your Poltchageist's form, use the Appraise feature in your Pokémon storage - your team leader will reveal whether you've caught the common Counterfeit or rare Artisan variant.

Catch 10 Ghost or Dark-type Pokémon: Yamask, Litwick, or Phantump encounter

Evolve 3 Dark-type Pokémon: Zorua or Vullaby encounter

Evolve 3 Ghost-type Pokémon: Sableye or Hisuian Zorua encounter

Power up Pokémon 10 times: 25 Mega Energy (Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, or Absol)

Win 3 Raids: Spiritomb encounter
