The FC 27 Collection system adds a completely different progression path to Ultimate Team. Instead of judging your club only by your starting XI or your most expensive player, Collections reward you for building a much broader club, collecting different types of cards, improving individual Collection ratings and reaching higher overall Collection levels.
There are 126 Collections to work through, with ratings ranging from D to S. Your cards can contribute base points, activate additional Collection bonuses and, most importantly, receive very large bonuses when they are First Owner cards.
But you do not necessarily need to permanently own every card required for a Collection. For players mainly chasing FC 27 Collection Tokens, one of the most useful strategies is to buy the required players, complete the rating, collect the reward and then sell the cards back.
This guide explains how FC 27 Collections work, how Collection points are calculated, why First Owner cards matter, how to earn Hall of Fame Tokens, which Collections can be completed relatively cheaply, and how players can approach both Token and Collection Level progression.
FC 27 Collections turn cards sitting inside your club into another form of progression. The Collection interface covers seven main categories and 126 individual Collections, including club-based, league-based and rarity-related Collections.
Each Collection requires a minimum number of eligible cards before it can be rated. Once the requirement is met, the game evaluates the cards you own and assigns a Collection rating.
Your Collection overview also tracks information such as the total number of cards you own, Holographic cards and First Owner cards. That makes the system about more than simply owning one expensive squad.
FC 27 Collections use five main ratings:
The higher your score, the higher the rating you can reach. One particularly useful feature is that the rewards are cumulative. If you reach an S rating, you also receive the rewards associated with the lower rating thresholds that you passed.
Your rating is not permanently locked. If you later pack better cards or improve the cards available for a specific Collection, you can return and rate that Collection again. This means Collections can continue improving naturally as your club grows.
Your total Collection score can be understood as two main parts:
Every eligible card contributes a base value. Lower-tier cards contribute relatively small amounts, while highly rated Gold cards can be worth dramatically more.
| Card Type | Base Collection Points |
|---|---|
| Bronze | 20 |
| Silver | 30 |
| Gold | Scales with player rating |
| 91-Rated Gold | Up to 19,000 |
This creates a large gap between simply filling the minimum number of card slots and filling them with cards that generate a strong Collection score.
Base score is only part of the calculation. Collections also contain bonus tags that can increase the points generated by qualifying cards.
There are more than 20 types of tags, covering characteristics such as nationality, league, club, five-star Skill Moves, five-star Weak Foot, TOTW cards, defender-related conditions and other card attributes.
A tag must first be activated by meeting its requirement. Once active, cards that satisfy that condition can receive the corresponding Collection bonus.
This makes early tag activation useful. If you can unlock relevant tags through beginner or starter content, those bonuses can continue helping when you rate other Collections later.
One of the strongest Collection bonuses is First Owner.
First Owner cards are players obtained directly through sources such as packs, objectives or SBCs. A player purchased from the Transfer Market does not become a First Owner card.
| First Owner Cards | Collection Bonus |
|---|---|
| 5 First Owner Cards | +150% |
| 10 First Owner Cards | +300% |
| 20 First Owner Cards | +500% |
The difference can be enormous. For example, a First Owner Saka used in a Collection example received roughly 25,000 additional points from the First Owner bonus.
Collection progression can be separated into two major reward paths: Collection Tokens and Collection Levels. They are related, but the best strategy for each is different.
Tokens are especially important because they can be used toward Hall of Fame players, including options such as Pato, Hulk, David Luiz and Valencia.
Club Collections begin awarding Tokens once you reach the required rating threshold, with many club-based routes becoming useful from B rating onward. Because smaller clubs can have much lower completion costs than major clubs, they can be one of the most practical places to start when your main objective is farming Tokens.
Once you have enough Tokens, the next question is which player is actually worth unlocking. We have covered the different options separately in our Best FC 27 Hall of Fame Players to Unlock Guide.
Collection Levels are based on your combined score across Collections rather than simply the number of Tokens you have earned.
One of the major targets is Collection Level 10, which requires 3,000,000 Collection points and offers a Holographic Hero Player Pick with five choices.
Reaching that point is much more demanding than simply farming early Hall of Fame Tokens. Players focusing on Levels should pay more attention to league Collections, rarity Collections, First Owner bonuses and high-value cards that can contribute to multiple Collections.
The most important concept for a Token-focused strategy is that you do not necessarily have to keep every player you buy.
Instead, you can use a cycle like this:
If you buy and resell at similar prices, your main unavoidable cost is the 5% Transfer Market tax. In other words, part of Collection progression can function more like temporarily cycling Coins through players than permanently spending the full purchase price of every card.
Starting capital still matters. A player with around 100,000 Coins, enough time and careful buying and selling can gradually work through cheaper Collections instead of trying to purchase everything at once.
If your current Coin balance makes it difficult to cycle through the required cards, you can also check our FC 27 Coins page. Regardless of how you build your Coin balance, always account for market price changes and the 5% tax before starting a Collection route.
The Collection market snapshot used for this guide identified a group of Collections that could be rated through Transfer Market purchases at relatively manageable costs. The wider filtered route showed 57 qualifying Collections with up to 555 Tokens available within the selected cost range.
The following are the 16 Collections visible in the snapshot, including the target rating, Token reward and estimated player purchase cost.
| # | Collection / Club | Target Rating | Tokens | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Frosinone | S | 28 | 18,100 Coins |
| 2 | Costa Adeje Tenerife | S | 28 | 21,400 Coins |
| 3 | Málaga CF | S | 28 | 22,750 Coins |
| 4 | Birmingham City | S | 28 | 38,700 Coins |
| 5 | Hull City | A | 18 | 13,850 Coins |
| 6 | Bergamo Calcio | A | 18 | 14,300 Coins |
| 7 | Logroño United | A | 13 | 8,300 Coins |
| 8 | Lecce | A | 13 | 8,400 Coins |
| 9 | Le Mans FC | A | 13 | 8,750 Coins |
| 10 | Real Racing Club | A | 13 | 9,750 Coins |
| 11 | FC Badalona Women | A | 13 | 10,150 Coins |
| 12 | Toulouse FC | A | 13 | 10,700 Coins |
| 13 | Deportivo Alavés | A | 13 | 11,150 Coins |
| 14 | Montpellier Hérault SC | A | 13 | 12,150 Coins |
| 15 | Venezia | A | 13 | 14,250 Coins |
| 16 | Charlton | A | 13 | 18,900 Coins |
Looking only at the visible snapshot, the cheapest entries are not necessarily the ones that award the most Tokens. The two league Collections shown require only an estimated 6,000 Coins for their displayed D rating and 10 Tokens, while several club Collections can provide 13, 18 or even 28 Tokens at higher rating thresholds.
That is why it is useful to think in terms of temporary capital required rather than simply looking for the Collection with the biggest reward. If the purchased cards can be sold again, the amount you need available to start the Collection and the amount you ultimately lose to tax are two different numbers.
Manually comparing all 126 Collections can take a lot of time. A Collection planning tool such as the FUT.GG Collection Planner can make the process easier by helping you compare Collection requirements and identify cheaper routes toward a Token target.
Instead of randomly buying cards, decide how many Tokens you need first. You can then prioritize lower-cost Collections, buy the necessary cards, complete the rating, resell them and move your available Coins into the next Collection.
Farming Tokens and pushing Collection Levels are not exactly the same task.
If Tokens are your goal, smaller club Collections and relatively inexpensive market cards can be very efficient. If your goal is the 3,000,000 points required for Level 10, however, you need to think more aggressively about total score.
One strategy is to buy a valuable card that contributes to several Collections at once.
For example, a Holographic Hero card worth around 330,000 Coins may contribute toward multiple categories, such as:
You can rate the relevant Collections while the card is in your club and then put the card back on the Transfer Market. This allows the same temporary purchase to influence several Collection scores.
The problem is capital and tax. The more expensive the player, the more expensive each buy-and-resell cycle becomes. That makes this approach much less attractive for players with limited Coins.
There is no reason every player needs to approach Collections in the same way. Your best route depends on what you actually want from the system.
| Goal | Main Focus | General Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Hall of Fame Tokens | Cheaper club Collections | Buy → rate → claim → resell |
| Low-Budget Progress | Cheap Collections + First Owner cards | Use packs/objectives and recycle market capital carefully |
| Collection Levels | League, rarity and high-point Collections | Prioritize total score rather than Tokens alone |
| Level 10 Push | Multi-Collection high-value cards | Requires much more capital and careful tax management |
A mainstream target for Token-focused players is around 500 Tokens, which puts an entry Hall of Fame player within reach. The cheaper club routes can provide a large part of that total, while league and rarity Collections can help fill the remaining gap.
The key is not to confuse “cost of cards purchased” with “Coins permanently spent.” When cards are resold, your actual loss may be much smaller than the temporary capital required to complete the Collection, although price movements and the Transfer Market tax still matter.
The most interesting part of the Collection system is that it does not have to remain static. As more card types and promotional players enter FC 27, new Collection targets and rating opportunities can give older and newly released cards additional value beyond simply making your starting squad.
That could make Collections a long-term Ultimate Team objective rather than something players finish once and forget.
For that reason, it can be worth thinking twice before clearing large numbers of cards from your club. First Owner cards, unusual card types and cards that activate useful bonus tags may become valuable Collection pieces even when they have little immediate gameplay value.
FC 27 Collections are an Ultimate Team progression system that rates groups of cards in your club. There are 126 Collections across seven main categories, with ratings ranging from D to S. Improving Collections can earn rewards, Tokens and overall Collection Level progress.
Collection Tokens are earned by reaching the required ratings in eligible Collections. Club Collections can be particularly useful for Token farming because some smaller clubs can reach Token-paying ratings without requiring extremely expensive cards.
One low-cost approach is to target cheaper club or league Collections, buy the required cards from the Transfer Market, complete the rating, claim the reward and then sell the players again. If prices remain stable, the main unavoidable expense is the 5% Transfer Market tax.
Yes. First Owner cards can provide major Collection bonuses. Five First Owner cards provide a +150% bonus, 10 provide +300%, and 20 provide +500%. This makes cards obtained directly from packs, objectives and SBCs especially valuable for Collection progression.
A useful Collection strategy is to buy eligible players, use them to reach the required Collection rating and then relist them so the Coins can be moved into another Collection. Remember that Transfer Market tax and price changes can reduce the amount you recover.
Collection Level 10 requires 3,000,000 total Collection points. Its major reward is a Holographic Hero Player Pick with five choices.
Players mainly interested in Hall of Fame rewards can prioritize cheaper Token-paying club Collections. Collection Levels require a much greater focus on total points, First Owner bonuses, league and rarity Collections, and potentially more expensive cards.
The Collection system covered in this guide contains 126 Collections across seven main categories.
Around 500 Tokens is an important early target for players trying to unlock a starting Hall of Fame option. Which player is worth choosing depends on your squad and position needs, so check our FC 27 Hall of Fame Player Guide before spending your Tokens.
FC 27 Collections reward a different type of Ultimate Team progression. Expensive players still matter, but a deep club, First Owner cards, activated bonus tags and smart Transfer Market management can be just as important.
If your priority is Hall of Fame Tokens, start by looking at cheaper club Collections and think in terms of buying, rating and reselling rather than permanently purchasing every card. If your priority is Collection Level 10, the challenge becomes much larger: you need to maximize total Collection points and find cards capable of contributing to several categories.
Most importantly, do not overlook First Owner cards. With bonuses reaching +500%, cards already sitting in your club may contribute far more Collection value than their Transfer Market price suggests.
