Fighting Giovanni is a common occurrence for Pokémon GO players, but one trainer had an experience like no other. After defeating the Team GO Rocket boss, they received his post-battle message as usual. However, the game suddenly froze, causing Giovanni's character model to load incorrectly.
In the strange glitch, Giovanni's head appeared behind his body with no neck connecting them. His eyes bulged out widely and his teeth were fully visible. It was a disturbing sight that didn't match the villain's usual threatening but composed demeanor.

The trainer shared their weird encounter on Reddit. While unsettling, other users found humor in the bug too. Some joked that Giovanni must have been furious to look that angry after a loss. Others likened his distorted features to aliens from sci-fi horror films.
Unfortunately, unexpected glitches aren't rare in Pokémon GO. Players have reported everything from avatar-sizing errors to issues battling Team GO Rocket that impact gameplay. Catching Pokémon can also be ruined if hitboxes don't work properly. Although Niantic works diligently to fix problems, it's understandably frustrating for the community. These bugs take away from the intended fun of adventure and collection.
While Pokémon GO aims to be a lighthearted experience rather than frightening one, this Giovanni glitch provided an unwitting jumpscare! The trainer faced a terrifying visual that strayed far from the game's cartoonish style. It makes for a creepy tale to share even if just a quirky bug. Fans look forward to more reliable battles with the villainous teams in future.
