Path of Exile 2
Jack
Grinding Gear Games has announced significant improvements coming to Path of Exile 2 with Patch 0.3.1, expected within the next week. This update focuses heavily on enhancing the endgame "Atlas" experience based on player feedback.
The requirement to defeat all rare monsters to complete a map has been removed.
Every map now features a boss, with defeating it as the primary completion objective.
Powerful Map Bosses: Existing difficult bosses that guarantee upgraded Waystone drops
Mundane Bosses: New easier bosses for simpler maps with basic rewards
Can now be used on magic items to reroll them into rare items with four modifiers.
15 of the largest maps have been reduced in size for more consistent clear times.
Annoying ground effect modifiers have been significantly toned down.
Patch 0.3.1 represents a direct response to community feedback, shifting the endgame experience from randomness to player agency. The changes make Path of Exile 2's endgame more accessible and strategic while maintaining the depth that veterans appreciate.
These improvements set the stage for the larger endgame overhaul planned for the future 0.4.0 update.
