Golden Cards are some of the hardest Cards to collect in Travel Town, and they are often the reason an otherwise nearly complete Seasonal Album gets stuck. Some players also search for them as Gold Cards, but the game officially refers to them as Golden Cards.
Unlike regular duplicate Cards, Golden Cards cannot currently be traded with friends. That means you usually need to focus on Golden Card Packs, special event rewards, guaranteed-new rewards, or a Golden Joker if you want to fill those final golden gaps.

What Are Golden Cards in Travel Town?
Golden Cards are special, harder-to-find Cards that appear inside the Seasonal Card Album. Travel Town describes them as very rare Cards, and they can be especially difficult to collect compared with ordinary Cards.
Their biggest difference is important: Golden Cards cannot currently be traded. If your friend has a duplicate Golden Card that you need, they cannot simply send it to you the way they could with an eligible regular duplicate.
This is why players often reach the later stages of an Album with most of their regular Cards completed while several Golden Cards are still missing.
Travel Town's Seasonal Cards guide confirms that Golden Cards are rarer than ordinary Cards and are not available for normal Card trading.
How to Get Golden Cards in Travel Town
Because you cannot trade for a Golden Card, the best strategy is to focus on rewards that give you a direct chance at one.
1. Earn Golden Card Packs
Golden Packs are one of the clearest ways to target Golden Cards. Travel Town currently has 3-Star, 4-Star, and 5-Star Golden Packs, along with XL versions of some Golden Packs.
The important difference is that these Packs guarantee a Golden Card of the stated rarity. For example, a 5-Star Golden Pack includes a guaranteed 5-Star Golden Card.
2. Complete Events and Challenges
Mission Events, Daily Tasks, limited-time events, and other in-game activities can award Card Packs or special Card rewards. When choosing where to spend your Energy or Diamonds, pay extra attention to events that clearly show a Golden Pack or Golden Card as a milestone reward.
Not every difficult event automatically gives a Golden Card, so check the reward track before committing a large amount of resources.

3. Look for Guaranteed New Golden Card Rewards
A Golden Pack guarantees a Golden Card of a certain rarity, but that does not always mean the Golden Card will be new.
When Travel Town offers a reward specifically labeled as a new Golden Card, that reward is much more valuable if your album already contains many Golden duplicates. The official Card probability information currently lists rewards that guarantee a new Golden Card, including guaranteed new 5-Star Golden Card rewards.
4. Use a Golden Joker When Available
Golden Jokers can be extremely useful because they allow you to choose a missing Card, including a Golden Card.
We will cover Joker strategy separately, but the simple rule is this: if Golden Cards are your hardest remaining gaps, do not waste a Golden Joker on an easy regular Card.
How Do Golden Packs Work?
| Pack | Golden Card Guarantee | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 3-Star Golden Pack | One 3-Star Golden Card | Missing lower-rarity Golden Cards |
| 4-Star Golden Pack | One 4-Star Golden Card | Harder mid-to-late Album gaps |
| 5-Star Golden Pack | One 5-Star Golden Card | High-rarity Golden Card gaps |
You can check Travel Town's official Pack and Card probabilities whenever you want to see what a particular Pack currently guarantees.
How to Improve Your Chances of Getting Golden Cards
- Prioritize rewards that explicitly show Golden Packs. Do not assume every high-star Pack is a Golden Pack.
- Value “New Golden Card” rewards more highly when you are near completion. They remove the duplicate problem.
- Check event rewards before spending heavily. If an event does not offer anything useful for your missing Golden Cards, saving resources may be smarter.
- Use Golden Jokers on difficult gaps. They are one of the few truly targeted ways to fill a missing Golden Card.
- Do not expect Card Boom alone to guarantee a missing Golden Card. More Cards can mean more chances, but a guarantee only exists when the reward specifically says so.
Can You Trade Golden Cards in Travel Town?
No. Under the current Travel Town rules, Golden Cards cannot be traded.
Even if you have an extra Golden Card and your friend needs that exact Card, the normal send option is not available for it.
There is currently no special Golden Card trading event that changes this rule. Of course, game mechanics can change in future updates, so the in-game interface should always be treated as the final authority.
Golden Cards vs Flame Cards
Golden Cards and Flame Cards are both special Cards, but they are not the same system.
| Feature | Golden Cards | Flame Cards |
|---|---|---|
| Part of Seasonal Cards | Yes | Yes, as time-limited sets |
| Can be traded | No | No |
| Main sources | Golden Packs, special rewards, Golden Joker | Regular Packs, Flame Packs and special Flame rewards |
| Availability | Seasonal Album | Only while the Flame event is active |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you trade Golden Cards in Travel Town?
No. Golden Cards are currently not available for normal Card trading.
Does a Golden Pack guarantee a new Golden Card?
Not necessarily. A Golden Pack guarantees a Golden Card of the stated rarity, but it can still be a duplicate unless the reward specifically says that it guarantees a new Golden Card.
Can a Golden Joker give you a Golden Card?
Yes. A Golden Joker can be used to choose a missing Golden Card, making it one of the most targeted ways to complete a difficult Golden gap.
Can you buy Golden Cards?
Golden Cards can appear through eligible in-game Packs and rewards, but BuyMMOG does not currently sell or deliver Golden Cards. They also cannot be sent through normal Card trading.
Can Flame Cards be traded?
No. Flame Cards also cannot be traded. They are collected during limited-time Flame Card events through eligible Packs and event rewards.
Final Thoughts
Golden Cards are difficult because there is no normal friend-trading shortcut. The best approach is to watch for Golden Packs, guaranteed-new Golden Card rewards, useful event milestones, and Golden Jokers instead of relying entirely on random Packs.
If the Cards you are missing are regular, tradable Travel Town Cards rather than Golden Cards, you can also check the Travel Town Cards currently available on BuyMMOG.
