The San Jose Sharks have acquired a 2023 fourth-round pick from the Seattle Kraken, to be selected by June 15, 2023. This move was announced by the Sharks' General Manager, Mike Grier, who revealed that the pick was obtained in exchange for defenseman Jaycob Megna.

Megna played in 48 games this season for the Sharks and contributed 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists), 21 penalty minutes and a plus-six rating. He reached a milestone by appearing in his 100th NHL game on November 10, against St. Louis and scored his first goal of the season on January 10th against Arizona.

In two seasons with the Sharks, Megna played in 92 games and recorded 20 points (3 goals, 17 assists). He was also the team captain of the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.

The Plantation, Florida native stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 220 pounds, and he was signed by San Jose as an unrestricted free agent on July 28, 2021.
