How to Change Playbooks

In Madden NFL 26, selecting the right playbook is crucial for enhancing your gameplay experience. A playbook serves as your team's game plan, containing all the offensive and defensive plays you can run during a game. Every NFL team has a unique playbook that reflects its real-life strategies, strengths, and style of play.

In Quick Play

To change your playbook in a quick match, follow these steps:

From the main menu, go to Settings.
Select Game Options.
Find the options for Offensive Playbook and Defensive Playbook.
Select your desired playbook from the available teams.

By default, these are set to be team-specific, which is ideal for newcomers. However, if you want to experiment with different strategies, feel free to choose a playbook from another team.

In Ultimate Team

Changing your playbook in Ultimate Team requires a specific playbook card. Here’s how to do it:

Obtain the playbook card either by opening packs or purchasing it from the Auction House.
From the main menu, go to My Team.
Select Lineup and navigate to the Playbooks and Visuals tab.
Choose the playbook you want to change and replace it with the new card.

Your default playbook will be the one from your favorite team chosen at the start of the game.

In Franchise Mode

To change playbooks in Franchise mode:

Go to Manage Team from the home menu.
Select Team Schemes.
Cycle through the offensive and defensive playbooks of all 32 teams and select the one that suits your strategy.
